Safaricom adopts ‘Twaweza’ slogan as it rebrands


Telecom giant Safaricom Limited has adopted a new slogan in a rebranding campaign that repositions it as a digital lifestyle enabler.

The company said that its new slogan, Twaweza, proves that “when we come together, great things happen”.

The rebrand was launched over the weekend in an invite-only event graced by business people, sports personalities and entertainers at Uhuru Gardens.

Sylvia Mulinge, director – consumer business, said the telco seeks to enhance accessibility to all Kenyans.

“We know our network is used for more than making calls, sending SMS or getting online. We have customers who use it to get access to their bank accounts, pay their bill or even get educated,” said Mulinge.

Chief executive Bob Collymore added; “Our hope is that our brand will become that helping hand, for all Kenyans who want to use technology to realize their dreams.”

The Safaricom network currently covers over 70 per cent of the country, has over 28 million subscribers and offers over 100 different products under its portfolio.
