Saccos will not get rid of slums
I totally disagree with Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu’s approach on getting rid of slums.
She would rather the dwellers organise themselves into Saccos that will enable them own houses.
This is wrong and insensitive as it is a tall order for most of the families who struggle to find food for their daily sustenance.
It goes without saying that they’d rather use the little they have for food than save for home ownership.
The slum question needs serious workable proposals.
