Kenya’s hot striker Rupia lands in Zambia to seal Dynamos deal
Nzoia Sugar striker Elvis Rupia has landed in Zambia ahead of his transfer to top flight side Power Dynamos.
Nairobi News understands the Kenyan Premier League’s leading scorer this season landed at the Ndola International Airport at around 2pm on Saturday.
He was received by club officials who later on navigated him through the hour-long journey to Kitwe.
As reported by Nairobi News this week, the 22-year old is set to sign a three-year deal which includes a reported Sh250,000 monthly salary.
According to the Zambia media, Rupia has been sought as replacement to Dynamos top striker Alex Ngonga who is on the verge of completing a move to South African club Baroka FC.
Fifth-placed Dynamos beat Kenya’s AFC Leopards, Tanzania’s Yanga and Rwanda’s Rayon Sport to Rupia’s signature.
Should Rupia complete this move, he will join several Kenyan stars who are currently plying their trade in Zambia.
They include Kenya internationals Jesse Were, David Owino, Anthony Akumu, Musa Mohammed, Clifton Miheso and John Mark Makwatta.
