EXCLUSIVE: Rosemary Odinga back in the country

Rosemary Odinga is back in the country after close to two and half months of medical treatment in South Africa.

Rosemary, the daughter of Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga, arrived home on Saturday evening aboard a Kenya Airways plane and was accompanied by her mother Ida.

Ms Odinga, who had political ambitions before her sickness, was received by a number of Nasa woman aspirants and women groups from Kibra Constituency.

Photos showed her in high spirits as she was being mobbed by the exuberant crowd.

Last month, the outspoken Ms Odinga announced her exit from the Kibra parliamentary race stating that she would support whoever wins the ODM ticket. Incumbent MP Ken Okoth carried the day.

BRAIN TUMOUR

Ms Odinga suffered a mild stroke in February leading to her hospitalization at the Nairobi Hospital.

Initial reports indicated that she was having a brain tumor and on February 28 she was flown to South Africa for further treatment.

On March 1 she made her first statement after being taken ill thanking Kenyans for their get well messages and prayers.

Her father Mr Odinga left the country on March 10 to visit his ailing daughter and on arrival he shared a photo of a recovering Rosemary.

A month later she announced, through a recorded video, that she had withdrawn from active politics following advice from her doctor.
