The Kenya National Highway Authority (KenHA) on Saturday removed speed bumps on sections of Thika Superhighway.

This was three days after Governor Mike Sonko had threatened to mobilise county officials to remove the bumps next Thursday.

The authority announced that the works will enhance smooth traffic flow and safety of pedestrians.

“We urge motorists and pedestrians to cooperate with traffic marshals along the maintenance sites to ensure smooth traffic flow,” a KenHA statement said.

It eventually plans to remove all bumps on the superhighway. Procurement procedures have started to place pedestrian footbridges in Survey, Ruaraka and Witeithie.
