Rival accuses Joho of sabotaging Uhuru’s coast tour

Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal has accused Governor Hassan Joho of sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour at the coast.

Mr Shahbal said the governor withdrew traffic marshals from the roads in Mombasa to cause traffic snarl-ups.

“We have noted with concern the deliberate and calculated move by Hassan Ali Joho to withdraw all the County traffic marshals on the road that have caused a serious traffic snarl up. This happened this morning,” wrote Shahbal.

President Kenyatta is on Monday expected to relaunch the Mtongwe ferry services.

WASTAGE OF FUNDS

At a Jubilee Party rally held at Tononoka grounds on Sunday, the leaders present accused Governor Joho of wastage of public funds.

Mr Shahbal said the county government had wasted billions of shillings from the equitable share and only boasts of inviting musicians to the county.

He said he will oppose relocation of people from houses in a Sh200 billion plan to construct new ones.

“In the first 100 days of my election as governor, we will flush out drug dealers from our roads and streets,” he said.

He said Mombasa residents will vote for Jubilee Party due to its development record.
