Revealed: Diamond’s baby with Zari to be named Zara
Tanzanian artist Nasibu Abdul popularly known as Diamond Platinumz will in three weeks be expecting a baby girl with his Ugandan girlfriend Zari Hassan.
The singer revealed that his baby will be named Zara, a rhyming name to that of his baby mama.
During an interview on Radio Citizen’s Mseto East Africa show Diamond said initially he wanted the unborn child to be named Kendi, a name he had liked since childhood.
He added that after deliberations with his wife to be they agreed Zara will be the most suitable name.
Diamond also revealed that he will be getting married to Zari soon after what he called “completion of some things that ought to be done first.”
Zari and Diamond starting dating earlier in the year and months later announced that they were expecting a baby.
BABY’S SEX
The two have been sharing hint photos about the sex of the baby with Zari at some point sharing a photo of a pink dress on her Instagram page as Diamond shared photos of him in Dubai shopping for car seats and strollers.
They however had kept their fans speculating on whether the two were expecting a girl or a boy until the Wednesday revelation on Citizen Radio.
Diamond during the interview also revealed that his latest hit Nana was meant to be a collabo between him and American superstar Ludacris but after his production team accessed the lyrics they preferred to have an African star featured hence the choice of Flavour.
The East African wonder kid said he has political ambitions and intends to become Tanzania’s sports minister so as to grow the sports and arts sector.
He expressed optimism that the incoming president will have great interest and hence supports arts like the incumbent President Jakaya Kikwete who even at one point bailed musician Ray C out of drug addiction.
