Reprieve for Leopards’ hero facing eviction over rent arrears

A team of Supersport presenters has come to the aid of AFC Leopards forward Karim Nduggwa who faced eviction after failing to pay rent for two months.

The player’s landlord had on Monday given him a 48-hour notice to vacate the one-bedroom house in Ngara area over non payment of Sh17,000 in rent for two months.

The Supersport presenters have offered to offset a month’s worth of rent accrued by the player. They are Chiko Lawi, Gilbert Selebwa, Jacob “Ghost” Mulee and Salim Ali.

Nairobi News understands that the player is unable to pay his bills because AFC Leopards has not paid his salary since February.

The Supersport crew,  who host the weekly Playback show, promised on air to offset at least half of the accrued arrears.

“I have been in this situation several times before. I wish to encourage Nduggwa to try, however hard it may be, to maintain focus,” Mulee said.

The eviction notice was served barely 48 hours after Nduggwa handed in a man of the match performance in goal for Leopards during a 1-0 win over Sofapaka.
