Remand prisoners commit suicide in hospital
Two remand prisoners hanged themselves to death using bed sheets at Mathari hospital on Wednesday night.
The two Lucy Wanjiru Wangui, 43, and Mary Ngendo Thuita, 37, were facing murder charges at Milimani law court.
The were admitted at the hospital for psychiatric examination before the start of their trial.
The two are said to have gone missing at the hospital prompting a quick search at the facility.
Their two bodies were found hanging from a metal bar.
The bodies have been taken to City mortuary.
