Recce squad officers deny Sh300K bribery charge
Two GSU Recce squad officers from Ruiru on Friday denied a charge of demanding a bribe of Sh 300, 000.
The two, Victor Mugambi Njoroge and Michael Epeyonon, were charged alongside Stephen Odere and Peter Kibaso with demanding the bribe from David Otieno Ochieng for alleged illegal connection of electricity at Mathare estate.
The four denied the charge at Milimani law courts and were released on a cash bail of Sh50, 000 until September 15 when the case will be heard.
The four were arrested at Sagret hotel on Thursday, few metres from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) headquarters, where they had gone to collect the amount.
They were arrested by CID officers from Central police station.
