Meet Rash, the only Kenyan rock band that made it to Afrima – VIDEO


They are a breath of fresh air in a crowded – often copy-paste – industry. The Swahili rock outfit Rash has been around for nearly a decade, slowly but surely building a loyal fan base in Nairobi.

With socially conscious lyrics and heavy guitars, Rash will give you goosebumps every time they take to the stage.

BIG ACHIEVEMENTS

They have been rocking out for nearly five years and were recently nominated for Best Artiste, Duo Or Group In African Rock at the 5th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2018 which were held in Accra, Ghana.

Although the band didn’t win the award, the say they feel encouraged by their big achievements thus far.

“We really didn’t expect the nomination, but we are glad that our hard work has finally paid off. It was unfortunate that we didn’t clinch the award, but the experience of coming here to Ghana and making all this amazing networks was well worth it,” the band said.

TV APPEARANCES

With numerous TV appearances on international media, Rash is fast becoming one of Kenya’s best rock export.

The band has been also been featured on CNN, French and German television stations.
