Rampant K’Ogalo steamroll KCB

Kenyan Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia on Wednesday whipped KCB 3-1 under floodlights on a soggy Nyayo National Stadium turf to send a chilling warning to bitter rivals AFC Leopards ahead of their derby on Sunday.

The result saw Gor Mahia reclaiming top spot in the league table with a maximum 12 points from four matches.

Rwandan play-maker Meddie Kagere was the star of the evening with a brace in the first half that set off K’Ogalo on the victory path.

Kagere opened the scoresheet in the second minute before completing his brace three minutes to halftime. Innocent Wafula wrapped up the win in the 54th minute.

The bankers got their consolation goal through Victor Majid’s wonder free kick late in the match.

K’Ogalo are level on points with erstwhile leaders Western Stima but occupy top spot on the account of their superior goal difference.
