Raila smiles, at last, and Twitter takes notice

There was a sharp contrast between the Raila Odinga seen during the presidential petition and the one seen on Friday when the petition’s ruling was delivered.

On the day his counterpart Moses Wetangula was battling the blocking of his bodyguard, Mr Odinga almost lost his cool and was visibly agitated.

But on Friday, an elated Raila was smiling ear to ear as he hugged his lawyers and political allies who had accompanied him to the courtroom for the ruling.

He walked out of the court room all smiles and with a fist sign of victory as Nasa politicians shouted “Raila Tibiiim.”

Mr Odinga’s joy was noted by many as the Supreme Court nullified the August 8 presidential election and ordered a repeat in 60 days.

As he walked out and addressed the press, Mr Odinga could not hide his joy even as he thanked the judges for “doing this for posterity of the people of Kenya.”
