Raila faces ‘uongo’ hostility in Kericho rally – VIDEO

National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga had an embarrassing encounter in Kapsoit, Kericho county when some people in his rally openly disagreed with his message.

Mr Odinga was seeking to endear himself with the predominantly-farming community and had tailored his message to appeal to them.

He was out to show that Jubilee administration had failed farmers. But when he posed “true or false” questions, part of the crowd answered “false”.

The rally was held on Thursday and clips of the exchange have been shared widely on social media.

“Biashara ya ukulima imeanguka. Kweli urongo?” posed Mr Odinga. “Uongo,” answered the crowd.

“Wakulima wa maindi wanalia,” he went on. “Uongo,” they answered again.

“Wakulima wa majani chai wanalia. Kweli urongo?” he persisted.

“Uongo,” they shot back.

A determined Odinga then took credit for the road leading to Kapsoit.

“Hii barabara ya kutoka huko mpaka hapa mimi ndio nilitengeneza,” he said.

But the crowd would hear none of it. “Aaaah,” they retorted.

Kericho is a Jubilee stronghold thanks to Deputy President William Ruto.
