Prof Makau Mutua ditches Raila, backs Kalonzo for Nasa ticket

Hitherto Raila Odinga diehard Makau Mutua appears to have a change of mind if his social media is anything to go by.

Prof Mutua tweeted that for a Nasa victory, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka must be on the ballot as either numero uno (number one) or numero dos (number two).

Mr Musyoka has been singled out by pundits as the best opposition candidate to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August election.

On Saturday, political analyst Barrack Muluka made similar arguments saying Mr Musyoka must be on the Nasa presidential ticket if the Opposition wants to have a fighting chance against Jubilee.

“Likewise, Raila should consider not being on the ticket, in the greater interest of victory,” wrote Mr Muluka.

“Without this, Nasa should consider the election lost, even before the first vote is cast.”

Prof Mutua has been a staunch supporter of Mr Odinga. His apparent change of mind attracted myriad reactions from his followers.
