Rubaga Cathedral priest Deogratias Kiibi Kateregga has blasted Ugandan musicians who he accuses of living extravagant lives and forgetting God, only to return to Church ‘when in caskets’.

The man of clothe passed made the statement to a hushed congregation during the requiem mass in honour of the fallen musician Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio.

In a stinging sermon, the priest added that most musicians had even abandoned their families and chosen to live extravagant lifestyles, forgetting that without God, all the fame will vanish in a short period of time.

“These artistes tend to forget God who gave them that talent,” Father Katerregga told the congregation which included the musician family, close friends and fans, including politicians.

“Once they become celebrities, they stop going to church and mosques, when they are brought back, it is in a casket.”

He also noted that most of the celebrities have always used the money they have gained from fame to live wasteful lives, and advised the celebrities to tithe.

The priest however caused laughter when he also noted that people have gained fame through hurting others like bouncers in bars ‘who have too much energy.’

He advised the bouncers to use their energy to clean all the sewage in the city which has been a problem to the people living in the area.

Radio, 33, met his death this week from injuries he sustained from a brawl at a night club in Entebbe. He will be buried on Saturday.
