Thugs shot dead after raiding Buruburu school

Police shot dead three suspected robbers on Tuesday morning in Buruburu and recovered a homemade gun loaded with three bullets.

The three were among a group of six who broke into the Buruburu 1 primary school, tied two watchmen and beat them up before gaining access to the school’s staffroom.

“They took two TV sets, a consignment of books that had been delivered to the school and two laptops before trying to escape towards the Outering Road,” Nairobi County Deputy Police Commandant, Moses Ombati said.

As the six were escaping, police from the nearby Buruburu Police post were alerted by the watchman and they arrived at the scene.

“The police managed to shoot three of them, killing them on the spot. The other three escaped on foot into the estate” Mr Ombati said.

The bodies of the suspects are at the City mortuary as the police continue searching for the three who escaped.

In Karen, police are holding two watchmen and a house help for questioning after their employer was robbed at night in his house in Dagoretti Road, Karen.

Four suspected thugs were reported to have stormed the compound, tied the two watchmen with ropes and proceeded to the househelp’s house at the servant’s quarters where they got the key to the main house.

“They then stole Sh 50,000, two TV sets, 3 laptops, 1 Ipad and two mobile phones before escaping without hurting the house owner” Mr Ombati said.
