Police seize ivory worth Sh6.4m at JKIA headed to Thailand

Kenya Airports Police Unit (KAPU) detectives seized ivory valued at Sh6.4 million on Tuesday night at Jomo Kenyatta Internal Airport (JKIA).

The ivory was concealed in a cargo full of gem stones.

Airport DCI chief Joseph Ngisa said the cargo was on transit from Mozambique to Thailand.

“No one has been arrested and we have launched investigations to establish the source and the consignee,”he said.
