Police rescue man from irate mob in Mathare
A suspected pickpocket escaped death narrowly on Wednesday after police rescued him from an irate mob that intended to burn him alive.
The man had reportedly stolen a mobile phone from a woman.
The incident in Mathare saw the mob ring the suspect in used tyres and nylon sacks.
Police intervened just as the mob was preparing to set the man ablaze.
