Police probe death of man whose body was found in estate lodging


A man’s body has been found hanging by the belt at a lodging in Nairobi’s civil servant estate in what is suspected to be a suicide case.

The body was discovered by the lodging employees who reported the incident to the police.

The police moved to the scene and established the identity of the deceased but there was no suicide note.

The lodging booked the customer at five minutes past midnight on Sunday.

POLICE REPORT

During check out the customer did not leave the room and workers reported the body’s discovery to the police at 3pm on Sunday.

“Scene visited by OC Crime Buruburu, duty officer and party who confirmed that the deceased namely Kenneth Kiama Muthangani booked the room and the said lodging on 7th /01/2017 at about 0005hrs and went straight to the room where he is believed to have hanged himself at unknown time using his belt,” read the police report.

The deceased did not leave any suicide note and no immediate cause of suicide was established.

The body of the deceased was taken to the City Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
