A police officer was on Tuesday morning found dead in his girlfriend’s house in Tena estate.

It was reported that the officer, James Irungu Njoroge (police number 76570) who is attached to Railways Police Station in Nairobi, had visited his lover, namely Doreen Nkirote, and spent the night together. He is said to have died the following morning while having breakfast.

A police report seen by Nairobi News filed at Buruburu Police Station under OB number 14/04/2020 states that the officer was in good moods and that the pair spent a good time together.

“The girlfriend went to take a bath leaving the deceased in the seating room taking breakfast. Upon coming back, she found the deceased unconscious and a Red Cross ambulance came to rescue him. But unfortunately he was confirmed dead,” the police report reads in part.

The lifeless body of the officer was moved to Kenyatta University Mortuary for postmortem examination.

In a statement, the woman in whose house the police died said the officer was okay the whole time they were together, and that she was shocked by what had happened.
