Police looking for aide over drugging

Police are looking for a close aide of a top politician for allegedly drugging two security guards with marijuana.

Police say George Maurice Ayugi ,gave   biscuits laced with the drug to guards at the Trans National Building along Mama Ngina Street on Tuesday.

The biscuits sent the guards to a 12-hour sleep.

When they recovered, the two guards, Jevans Cheminingwa and William Cherusi  narrated to the Police how the friendly gesture immobilised them.

“When one of the guards, William Cherusi, went to check the car, Mr Ayugi is said to have given him a packet of biscuits and asked him to share them with his other friend” Mr Oduma Central Police OCPD Patrick Oduma told our reporter.

After a short while, the guard feel into deep sleep, arousing the suspicion of workers at the building.

The two were then rushed to the Nairobi West Hospital where a blood test revealed that they had consumed marijuana.

Mr Oduma said after the incident, all vehicles in the parking lot were detained so that investigations would begin.

Curiously, Mr Ayugi managed to elude the police dragnet on Wednesday morning when he arrived at the building to collect his car.

“When police approached him, he disappeared,” Mr Oduma said, adding that no office or bank had been robbed.

Police  suspect Mr Ayugi’s aim was to access an office located at the ninth floor of the building.
