Police bust River road’s document forgery syndicate

Police on Tuesday night arrested three people suspected to be behind a document forgery syndicate in River road.

The three who were arrested at Simba Centre at 6pm were found with Kenya Revenue Authority stamps, vehicle inspection stamps, passport photos, unprocessed driving licences, school leaving certificates, bank statements and a computer.

Central Police Station OCPD Patrick Oduma said the three are being held in custody as police finish up on investigations. They will be arraigned on Thursday.

“We suspect that they have been operating the business for long and we hope to arrest others soon because we have crucial information that we are following,” Mr Oduma said.

“We partly blame these people for the several accidents happening because they indirectly authorize unqualified people to drive,” he said.

Mr Oduma said the police will summon the people whose documents were found in the operation for questioning.

“They should just come to the police stations because if they do not, we will find them. We have most of their documents,” he said.
