Why police arrested woman dumped unconscious in Roysambu
The woman who was photographed while unconscious after allegedly being thrown out of a vehicle in Kasarani has been arrested.
A man who was driving the car at the time of the incident was also arrested by police in Kasarani.
On Wednesday, Kasarani police boss Robinson Mboloi said investigations showed that the two were drunk during the Tuesday night incident.
“The woman was taken to hospital after members of the public found her unconscious but, when she sobered up, we arrested her and she is now in police custody,” Mr Mboloi said.
He said the two will be arraigned in court on Thursday, and that police were working on the matter with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
A pedestrian who took the picture of the woman also photographed the vehicle, capturing its registration number.
Elsewhere in Buruburu, two suspected robbers were shot dead by police on Rabai Road and a pistol recovered. Two others fled but police are pursuing them.
Police said they confronted the four after they received a report from the public that armed gangsters were robbing them.
