Anti-terror detectives are grilling eight suspects who were arrested in Pangani on Sunday evening.

The suspects were arrested along General Waruinge road at around 5.45 pm after members of the public alerted the police.

A team of officers headed by Sergeant Abdinassir Noor managed to intercept the two cars and arrested the occupants.

Five of them are foreigners while the other three are Kenyans.

Police say the suspects were driving in two vehicles, one of them a Toyota Landcruiser registration number KAC 041M fitted with a VHF communication equipment.

Starehe OCPD Benard Nyakwaka said that police also seized another car, a black Toyota Fielder registration number KBK 980G.

“We have handed over the suspects to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit officers for further interrogation,” the OCPD said.

Police have detained the two cars and also confiscated eight phones that were found in their possession.

The phones were also handed over to the ATPU detectives.
