Peace Mulu admitted at KNH after grisly accident
Gospel artist Peace Mulu popular for her Ombea Adui Yako hit is admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital following a grisly accident on Kangundo Road.
The artist broke her right thigh bone during the Monday accident and is scheduled for surgery on Friday.
Peace was part of a team that was in a hired matatu from a video shoot that collided head on with a personal car leaving three occupants of the matatu injured.
Two of her colleagues who were injured during the accident were treated while she remained in hospital for surgery.
Artists and friends are meeting for a fundraiser on Friday at Accra Hotel to raise the money required to settle her hospital bill.
According to Mutisya Maweu, the Eastern Director for Music Copyright Society of Kenya, who is mobilizing artists for the fundraiser, the singer is in a stable condition though still in a lot of pain.
“She was to undergo surgery on Wednesday but since we working on transferring her to a private wing she had to be scheduled for another day,” he added.
Peace has been in the gospel industry for over a decade with more than 14 albums including various political songs commissioned by politicians.
She has in the past been nominated and won various Groove Awards in the eastern song of the year category.
