Pastor Ng’ang’a taken to court, denies charges

Popular televangelist Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Ministry has denied all charges relating to the fatal road accident that left a woman dead.

The pastor was charged at the Limuru law court with causing death by dangerous driving, giving false information and failing to report an accident.

He denied all the charges.

Also charged alongside the preacher were Limuru Traffic Commander Patrick Baya and Inspector Christopher Nzilu.

The two were charged with neglect of duties by failing to investigate the case and also conspiring to defeat justice.

Nzillu was also charged with giving false information at Tigoni Police Station.

Mr Simon Kuria, the man accused of covering up for the embattled pastor in the matter, was also charged with conspiring to defeat justice and giving false information.

The accused appeared before Limuru Senior Resident Magistrate Timothy ole Tanchu.

The offences relate to a road accident which allegedly involved a Range Rover linked to Pastor Ng’ang’a colliding with another vehicle on July 26, 2015 at Manguo in Limuru.

The occupants of the other vehicle were a couple and the fatal accident left Ms Mercy Njeri dead while her husband, Mr Martin Mbugua survived with injuries.
