Pastor in Magu death saga released on Sh2m bail
A pastor accused of having a hand in the death of lawyer Paul Magu, his wife Lydia and their three children was on Wednesday released on a Sh2 million cash bail.
This is after Ms Anne Wambui Wanyoro denied charges of aiding Mr Magu to commit suicide before Kiambu judge John Onyiego.
She is accused of helping Mr Magu to kill himself that on diverse dates between November 23 and 25 last year at Makongeni area in Thika.
REJECTED REQUEST
The charge can attract a life imprisonment if she is convicted.
The prosecution had in a sworn affidavit on Tuesday requested the court to deny her bail, arguing that she could interfere with the ongoing investigations if freed.
The judge noted that the accused was entitled to bail and that the prosecution failed to give convincing grounds to warrant the denial of bail.
Mrs Magu went missing on November 23 and her partially burnt body was later found dumped in a thicket at Paradise Lost while her husband’s body was found two later.
The children’s bodies were later found in a thicket at Tatu City in Ruiru.
