A gang of nine armed robbers carjacked a City Hoppa bus heading to Umoja estate from the city centre on Wednesday night where they stabbed passengers and robbed them of cash and other valuables.

The robbers who were armed with a pistol and a knife had boarded the bus at around 11.30pm took control of the bus, where they stabbed six passengers and robbed mobile phones, money and valuables from others.

Briefing KNA on the incident at Vigilance House, former police Spokesperson Zipporah Mboroki said the thugs ordered the driver James Mwangi to drive towards Kariobangi South where they alighted after committing the crime.

She said the injured passengers were rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

“Police officers rushed to the scene, but no arrest was made as the gang had already escaped,” she added.
