‘Undemocratic ODM’ tweet returns to haunt Passaris

Old tweets of Esther Passaris calling her party tribal have emerged with some users wondering why the change of heart.

Ms Passaris, who is seeking to vie for the woman representative position on an ODM ticket, had in 2015 tweeted that “tribalism reigns everywhere” in the party.

The businesswoman’s attempts to register her own party and vie for governorship failed and in March she announced her comeback to ODM.

Her move was challenged by aspiring Nairobi Woman Representative and Mountain View MCA, Beatrice Kwamboka who told Nairobi News Siasa, “Passaris does not deserve to be nominated as she once said our party was undemocratic.”

Ms Passaris during a past interview on live television made the same allegations when asked why she left ODM and vied on a Kenya National Congress ticket.

When contacted for an explanation on the change of heart, Ms Passaris was unavailable for a comment.
