Oparanya: Khalwale is only good at bull fighting – VIDEO

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has dismissed area Senator Boni Khalwale as someone who is at his best when officiating over bull fighting.

Oparanya, who doubles up as opposition party ODM’s deputy leader, hit out at Khalwale who is fast turning out to be his sworn political enemy while addressing the public in his county over the weekend.

“Allow me asking you my brothers and sisters, someone who we all know for talking to cows and making them fight all over, do you believe he can govern this county of ours? Have you ever seen a governor carried shoulder high just because his bull has won a fight? Have you ever seen me being carried on someone’s shoulders?”, Oparanya posed in his speech that tickled his audience.

POLITICAL THREAT

Oparanya also asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop fighting Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, saying that the president views the Mombasa Governor as a political threat in the Coastal region.

Oparanya and Khalwale are locked in a bitter contest to become Kakamega’s next governor. Oparanya will be contesting on the ODM ticket while Khalwale will fly Ford-Kenya’s flag.

On his part, Khalwale has accused Oparanya of overseeing corruption in the county. Among other issues, he says the governor irregularly awarded the tender to renovate Bukhungu Stadium, a responsibility he handed over to people “who are not qualified”.
