One-week Mexican food extravaganza at Kempinski


Villa Rosa Kempinski in conjunction with the Embassy of Mexico in Kenya are hosting a one-week culinary extravaganza showcasing the rich and expansive Mexican cuisine.

The gastronomic week kicked off on Monday, November 21 and will end on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Lucca Restaurant, Villa Rosa Kempinski.

The Embassy of Mexico flew in two renowned Mexican chefs, Juana Bravo and Daniel Nates to the hotel so as to help create various authentic Mexican dishes.

The week-long celebration was launched by Mexican ambassador to Kenya, the Honorable Erasmo R. Martinez and invited 120 guests drawn from the diplomatic community, corporates, businessmen, traders and lovers of international multi-cultural cuisines who graced the ceremony.

“The gastronomic week offers the perfect opportunity to share Mexican culture with Kenya,” said the ambassador.

He added that although Kenya and Mexico are continents apart, they share commonality in cuisine with staples foods such as corn, beans and chili peppers enjoyed in both countries albeit differing in methods of preparation.
