One dead, nine injured in Langata road accident
One person died and 11 others injured a grisly accident along Langata road on Monday.
The driver of the bus had reportedly swerved to avoid a truck near Uhuru gardens but lost control and the bus landed on its side.
The injured were taken to Kenyatta National Hospital.
The bus belonging to Serian Sacco was heading to Nairobi from Kiserian.
Nairobi Traffic Commandant Edward Mwamburi said the driver of the bus is still at large and he could not confirm the whereabouts of the conductor.
“We are liasing with the sacco to establish the whereabouts of the driver,” he said.
The 1pm incident caused a major snarl up on Langata road but police managed to clear up the accident scene.
The accident comes a week after another one on Jogoo road involving Embassava Sacco and Forward Travellers sacco.
The accident led to the National Transport and Safety Authority slapping a ban on Embassava Sacco.
