One dead in grisly Utawala accident – PHOTOS
One person died on the spot after a truck rammed into a saloon car on the Eastern bypass near the General Service Unit (GSU) training school.
The accident occurred at 7 a.m when the saloon car collided head-on with a truck. The driver of the saloon car died on the spot.
The truck, which was coming from Ruiru towards Embakasi, was reportedly overtaking another vehicle when it collided with the oncoming saloon car.
“The truck driver was overtaking and the driver of the oncoming saloon car drove out of the road, the truck driver did the same and they rammed on each other off the main road,” said the Nairobi traffic Commandant Edward Mwamburi.
The police have already identified the body and taken it to City Mortuary. Investigation are still ongoing.
The accident happened near the same spot were a famous actress Ms Kanana Gichuru occurred barely two months ago.
