Oliech seals Sh2million deal with MasterCard

Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech has landed yet another lucrative endorsement deal.

The former French based footballer is currently premiering in a advert for American multinational financial service corporation MasterCard, in a deal estimated to be worth Sh2 million.

In the two minute advert, Oliech, 32, who played for Auxerre against Ajax Amsterdam, Real Madrid and AC Milan in the 2010/2011 Uefa Champions League season, is seen surprising the lucky winner – who was caught shopping using the MasterCard – with a trip to watch a Champions League game in Europe, plus free shopping.

“Hi, this is Dennis Oliech, we are about to surprise a lucky shopper with priceless surprise courtesy of MasterCard. Let’s go shopping, twende boss tukashop,” says Oliech in the advert.

This deal comes amid another estimated Sh8 million annual deal that Oliech currently has with multinational betting firm Betway.

This move has attracted praise from a number of local football fans and players, who are encouraged by how firms are investing in former players.

The development is also the biggest indicator yet that Oliech, who last played competitively some 15 months ago, could be planning for life after football.
