Nyamweya, Musonye handed CAF posts


Three Kenyan football administrators have been appointed to different Confederation of African Football (CAF) standing committees.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Sam Nyamweya has been named on the African Nations Championship (Chan) Committee.

Long serving Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) Secretary Nicholas Musonye will sit on the Zonal Committee, while FKF’s NEC member for Rift Valley Doris Petra is headed to the fair play Committee.

Cecafa Chairman Leodgar Tenga, a Tanzanian, is the most powerful football administrator in Caf from the region as per the appointments.

He will sit in the Caf Executive Committee,and also be the Vice Chair in the continental body’s Finance Committee.

Uganda FA supremo Moses Magogo, his predecessor Lawrence Mulindwa (who is Cecafa’s Vice President), and CEO Edgar Watson have also been handed roles.

The appointed will serve a two year term.
