NTSA threatens to fine owners of uncollected log books


Owners of more than 15,000 uncollected logbooks could soon be slapped with fines if they do not collect them, according to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

In a statement, NTSA said it may be forced to introduce fines if the owners delay collecting the documents.

Nairobi leads with 8,763 uncollected logbook,s followed by Mombasa (5,998), Kisumu (228) and Nyeri (130) respectively.

“Motor vehicle owners who applied for transfer, duplicate logbook, removal of ownership, asset financing and change of particulars of their logbooks, are required to collect their logbooks from our Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru and Kisumu Offices,” NTSA said in a statement on its Facebook page.

“You are advised to carry your original National Identification Card which must be produced prior to the issuance of your logbook.”
