Nollywood fans mourn popular actor Obiekwe


Lovers of Nollywood movies are mourning the death of popular actor Muna Obiekwe who died on  Sunday after a long battle with kidney failure.

His death was received with shock among his colleagues, family and fans across the continent, who continue to express their grief on various platforms.

His illness was not known to many with his friends saying Obiekwe kept to himself and kept his life private.

Since his death some of his colleagues have been expressing their grief and sadness via social media, terming him as one of the busiest actors in Nollywood.

MEN IN LOVE

Obiekwe was popularly known for one of his controversial movies, Men in Love, where he played a gay role that drew massive reaction across the continent due to its controversial sex scenes.

The movie, which was released in 2010, tells the story of how the situation of a couple experiencing troubles in their marriage worsens when a cursed homosexual friend visits them.

According to media reports, before his death, the controversial actor was planning to produce a stage play to raise funds for his treatment.

The 36-year-old father of two also featured in dozens of other movies, which include Songs of Sorrows, Wasted Effort and My Best Friend.
