No, Richard Chacha has not been fired from NTV

NTV’s political affairs editor Richard Chacha on Tuesday dispelled rumours peddled by a local blog that he has been fired.

Chacha took to social media to confirm to his fans by posting photos of him and his colleagues at work.

One of the photos shows Chacha hobnobbing with the outgoing group company CEO and managing director Linus Gitahi.

He even wrote a post: “Hey guys, I am still at work… I will let you know if and when I am leaving.”

Chacha, who was involved in a grisly road accident in April 2012, went into a comma and after months of being in hospital he reported back to work.

AWARD-WINNING REPORTER

He has been making trips to India for specialized treatment and has made remarkable recovery although he still uses a wheelchair.

Chacha is an award-winning reporter and by the time of the accident had risen to become NTV’s news editor.

The accident that has seen him stay under treatment since 2012 happened along the Mai Mahiu-Narok road.

Others who were injured during the accident included then NTV Managing Editor Linus Kaikai, producer Ephantus Mwangi, administrator Frida Kirema and then CCTV’s Emmanuel Talam.

They were airlifted to Nairobi Hospital where some were treated and discharged but Chacha stayed on for months as he suffered most injuries.
