No rest for Kidero as he faces another suit

Governor Evans Kidero’s court battles may not come to an end as he expected.
Barely a week after signing a consent ending his assault dispute with Women Representative Rachel Shebesh, the Organisation for National Empowerment Chairman Benjamin Ndolo sued him claiming he was unfit to hold public office.
Mr Ndolo wants the Nairobi County Governor’s office declared vacant terming Dr Kidero’s alleged actions as gross misconduct.
Mr Ndolo claimed that Dr Kidero had on several occasions involved himself in corrupt practices and should be prosecuted for flouting the Leadership and Integrity Act.
He said Kidero attempted to have his legal fees paid up from the county government’s bank accounts.
Mr Ndolo quoted Article 181 of the Constitution which states that a governor may be removed from office for grossly violating the Constitution.
Disgrace
“There are reasons to believe that Dr Kidero has committed a crime under the national or international law and thus brought disgrace to the office of the Governor,” said Mr Ndolo.
He alluded to the controversial Shebesh slap terming it as brawl and unethical.
Mr Ndolo claimed that following the incident Dr Kidero lied that he could not recollect slapping anyone.
