No more curfew
Kenyans reacted with excitement after President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the dawn to dusk curfew.
The curfew with has been in place since March 2020, was put in place by the government as one of the measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
In his speech during the Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kirinyaga County, the Head of State also directed in-person church gathering reviewed upwards from one-third to two-thirds of the capacity.
“I hereby order and direct the nationwide dusk-dawn curfew to be vacated with immediate effect,” said the President, in what is likely to be his last speech as Commander in chief on a Mashujaa Day.
