Beware of fake Nkaissery Twitter and Facebook accounts
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has warned the public about fake Twitter and Facebook accounts with his name.
According to the Communication Director at the ministry, Mr Mwenda Njoka, the two fake social media accounts are purporting to offer scholarships and bursaries to university students and also asking for mobilization fee.
“One such pseudo account on Facebook is offering purported scholarships and bursaries to university students and asking for mobilisation fee. The truth of the matter is that there is NO such a program being run by the CS,” Mr Njoka said on Wednesday.
Mr Njoka further added that the matter is now investigation by the Cyber Crime Unit and that culprits will soon be apprehended.

He urged social media users to be extremely careful when dealing with comments and/or direct messages purported to be from him in order to avoid falling prey to cyber criminals.
The Cabinet Secretary’s also gave his official and verified Twitter account as @GenNkaisserry while his WhatsApp number as 0719777719.
“Any communication emanating from other accounts should be treated with extreme suspicion and immediately reported to the authorities for appropriate action,” Mr Njoka’s statement read.
