Nkaissery under fire for warning Nasa against ’10 Million Strong’ slogan
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has come under fire for warning Nasa not to claim that they will win the August election by 10 million votes.
The CS made the warning on Wednesday during the International Conference on Peace, Security and Social Enterprise, which is geared towards achieving peaceful elections in Kenya.
“The IEBC has 19 million voters, according to the register. Some people are going ahead to claim that they have numbers amounting to 22.5 million. This is lying to Kenyans and inciting them,” said the CS.
The CS followed it up with a tweet.
However, many noted that the CS did not issue a warning to Jubilee despite the consistent claim by Deputy President William Ruto that they would win by 70 per cent + 1 vote.
Then things went haywire
@GenNkaisserry 70% +1 can be of any figure…its a percentage of voter turn out…whether they are 10 or 20 only…

Profile pic changed to #10MillionStrong in defiance to Nkaisery and Kaparo's assertions.Tyranny of numbers/50+1 wasn't incitement? NKT.

Nkaisery when Ruto says watashinda na 70+1 we also treat this as peaceful message, but if NASA says #10millionStrong it's incitement upuzi
