Ngugi wa Thiong’o to sign books at Sarit Centre


Renowned author Ngugi wa Thiong’o will continue his engagements in the country with a book signing event at the Text Book Centre, Sarit Centre, in Nairobi on Saturday from 11am.

“All those wishing to have their books autographed should come,” said East African Educational Publishers managing director Kiarie Kamau.

Mr Kamau said the highlight of Prof Ngugi’s two-week tour would be a colloquium at the University of Nairobi on Thursday between 10am and noon, and a public lecture at 2pm.

Prof Ngugi, who is based in the US, arrived in the country on Tuesday and has been to Kenyatta University and Alliance High School where readers scrambled to his buy his books and have them autographed.

The scholar, who is accompanied by four of his children, all authors, is in the country to mark the Golden Jubilee of his first novel, Weep Not Child.
