Ngilu vows to fight way back to the cabinet
Suspended Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has formally declared her intention “to fight the status quo” whom she accuses of masterminding her current political woes.
The veteran politician is serving her third month in suspension over corruption related accusations leveled against her by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
Her fate in Government remains uncertain in the wake of this controversy, though the 62 year old remains determined to make a return.
SANITY IN LANDS MINISTRY
“Fellow Kenyans, I once said here that if you do disturb a bush be sure snakes will come out biting because you have disturbed their habitat,” Ngilu said on her Twitter handle on Sunday afternoon.
“I dared and went to the core of the bush. Kenyans had suffered on land matters. I had to bring change. But I knew it wouldn’t be an easy task,” she added.
The suspended CS lists “bringing sanity to the Ministry of Land” by re-organizing all registries to ensure all records are easily accessible to Kenyans and processing 1.1 million titles as some of her success in the industry.
“But I again, like I started off, this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. Confronting status quo is always a task that requires guts. The FIGHT continues,” she concluded.
