A 23-year-old woman who allegedly defiled a 15-year-old boy repeatedly has denied committing the offence when she appeared before a Kericho court.

Dorcas Chepng’etich alias Carol appeared on Monday before Kericho resident magistrate Elizabeth Karani charged that on the night of 12 July 2018 at about 11pm she defiled the boy.

Evidence documented by the prosecution revealed that the accused engaged in unprotected sex with the minor at her house situated at Kapkelek Trading centre in Belgut sub-county of Kericho.

The minor, who dropped out of school this year while in Class Seven, purportedly met the accused during a circumcision ceremony. Sh took him to her house where she defiled him.

The minor is said to have repeatedly visited the accused at her house where they would engage in unprotected sex.

The teen was found hiding inside the accused’s toilet by a neighbour residing nearby who had reportedly seen him entering the home on several occasions on July 12 at around 11pm.

The accused was arrested and taken to Jamji police station where she was charged with the offence.

The accused told the court that she was 23 years old.

Chepng’etich was released on a bond of Sh100,000 with a similar surety which she failed to raise and was remanded in custody until 1 August 1 for a mention of her case.

In June, a 17-year-old mother of one was charged for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old Form One student repeatedly, an offence she denied. The trial is still continuing.
