Woman accused of drugging man in CBD bar
A woman was on Tuesday charged with stealing from a trader after lacing his drink with a sleeping drug.
The court was told that Ms Gloria Cherono laced Mr Daniel Muchehu Mungai’s drink with the drug on December 22 in the city centre.
The prosecutor said Mr Mungai was in a bar when the accused joined him and ordered drinks.
He added that Ms Cherono took Mr Mungai’s phone and transferred Sh47,000 to another number.
She also attempted to ask for a loan from the mobile banking service.
Ms Cherono denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 bond.
The case will be heard on January 20.
