President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have each donated an equivalent of their one and a half month’s salary towards a development project in Machakos County.

This development was confirmed by the area’s Governor Alfred Mutua via social media.

The amounts totaling Sh 4.5 million will be used to purchase a new school bus for Machakos Girls High School.

CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

“(My partner) Lillian and I joined the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya H.E William S. Ruto at Machakos Girls High School for their centenary celebrations,” Mutua wrote on his official Facebook page.

“The school will also get a new school bus, following the County Government’s contribution of Sh 1.5m, Deputy President’s Sh 2m and the President’s Sh 2.5m towards the endeavor,” he added.

President Kenyatta takes home an approximated monthly pay of Sh 1.7m, while his deputy pockets some Sh 1.4m.
