Two lives lost in Lang’ata Road accident


Two people lost their lives on Friday morning after two cars heading towards the same direction were involved in an accident on Lang’ata Road near the Carnivore Restaurant.

Five other passengers were injured in the accident in which one of the two vehicles had eight occupnats.

The driver lost control before hitting another vehicle from behind before rolling into a ditch.

According to the Nairobi Traffic Commandant Leonard Katana, both vehicles were moving on same direction when the accident happened at around 5 am.

“The accident occurred early this morning and the surprising thing is that there was no traffic when it happened. The driver must have been speeding,” he said.

DEATH TOLL

The latest accidents to five, the tally of those killed in accidents in Nairobi since Thursday night. Two people were killed in Kayole and one along Eastern by pass.

In another incident on Thursday night, at Triangle area within Mtito Andei a pilot of David Sheldrick Conservancy crash landed an airplane after it developed mechanical problems.

Mr Henry Dyer was rescued by KWS personnel who rushed to the scene, he was later airlifted by AAR to Nairobi Hospital for treatment.

According to the police, the pilot was alone at the time of the accident which occurred within the Tsavo West National Park.
