Two in court for having sex with cow, killing it


Two men in Kisii have been charged with having sex with a cow, contrary to the law.

At the Ogembo Law Courts, the two men identified as Evans Nyangweso and Mr Edgar Omweri were further charged with injuring the same cow contrary to section 388 of the penal code.

The court heard that on January 19, 2019 at Boikanga village in South Gucha Sub County, Kisii County they jointly, willfully and unlawfully killed the cow valued at Sh50,000.

Appearing before senior resident magistrate Ms Margaret Nafula the two pleaded not guilty to the first count of unnatural offence contrary to section 162 (a) of the penal code.

ALTERNATIVE BOND

They were released on Sh50,000 cash bail or an alternative bond of Sh150,000.

In the same court, a man was charged of raping a mentally challenged woman contrary to section 146 of the penal code.

It is alleged that on January 17, 2019 in Botabori village in South Gucha, Kisii County the suspect Laban Ongwenyi intentionally caused his manhood to penetrate the vagina of a mentally disturbed woman without her consent.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh150,000 and surety of similar amount.

“The three suspects will appear in this court on February 1, 2019 for mention of the matter and setting of the hearing date is slated for the same day” Ms Nafula said.
